Senator says gays aren't fruits

Glad that he cleared that up.

Brownback said the interviewer apparently misinterpreted the Biblical quote as a joke. In a statement, the senator says he would never make jokes about such a personal and sensitive issue.

To me, it's another example of people being over-sensitive, I mean, if he had joked about a priest being a child-molestor, that would have been fine, but call a gay a fruit and let the outrage begin.

"The Left lives in a childlike fantasy realm."

On just about every issue, the Left lives in a childlike fantasy realm. Their views are expressions of what they wish for, not what actually is.

Here is a small sample:

-- Support for terror represents a tiny sliver of the Muslim world.

-- All cultures are essentially morally equivalent.

-- The United Nations is a wonderful institution and the best hope of mankind.

-- Men and women are basically the same.

-- It makes no difference whether children are raised by a loving man and woman or by two loving parents of the same sex.

-- Violent criminals in our society are pushed into crime by socioeconomic circumstances, not because of their own flawed characters and values.

-- War is not the answer.

David Orchard is mad, but then again, when isn't he?

Just how old is old enough though?

19 year old man arrested on charges of statutory rape for having consentual sexual relations with a 13 year old girl.

The sexual contact was not forceful, Lt. Bruce Cook said. The girl was not otherwise harmed.
"It was consensual, but a 13-year-old can’t give consent," he said.

I've never really understood the logic in the age of consent laws. It seems to me that having a blanket law isn't really all that effective and it would make more sense to be able to judge cases more on their own merit. Why is it that a 13 year old is too young to be able to consent but (in Canada, at least for now) a 14 year old isn't? Or for that matter a 17 year old is too young, but, while it might be creepy, an 18 can fuck a 70 year old if they want.

It's not the same fucking job

Canada's human rights commission to investigate whether flight attendants should be paid the same as pilots and mechanics.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees began the case in 1991, arguing that the airline discriminated because it paid attendants differently "for what it argued was equally valuable work performed by mechanical personnel and pilots."

I'm all for equal pay for the same job, but a pilot and a flight attendant are not the same thing. Anyone who is going to argue that a flight attendant is as valuable as the pilot is deluding themself.

Wrong! Copyright infringement! Sue the bastards!

My Canadian flag (check sidebar) is bigger then the American flag. Coincidence? Well, more laziness as I didn't feel like resizing it again to try and get them closer to the same size.

Still to lazy to attempt at doing a major over-haul of the layout and design, if anyone wants to volunteer to do it for me, feel free. I can't afford to pay you anything, but you can put it down as your good deed of the day or something, or bad deed if you suck at designing templates.

On the other hand, I now have the consistent internet access and spare time (well, I don't actually have the spare time, but updating will be something to do while I put off what I should be doing) to update this thing on a fairly regular basis.
